Leviton tapped for 3 cabling technology presentations at 2016 BICSI Fall Conference

Sept. 8, 2016
Presentations to cover PoE best practices, HDBaseT applications, and multifiber testing methods.

Leviton announced that it has been selected by the Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) professional organization to deliver three technology-focused presentations - including an opening general session presentation - at the 2016 BICSI Fall Conference (Sep. 13-14) in San Antonio, Texas.

Conference attendees will hear from Leviton experts on PoE cabling and connectivity, while also getting a comprehensive look at the company's HDBaseT solutions, and gaining an understanding of simple methods for conducting multifiber testing.

Details on Leviton's presentations at the show, according to the company, are as follows:

• Opening General Session: On Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., Brett Hanson, Leviton specification engineer, will discuss “Cabling and Connectivity for High-Power PoE.” Stay up-to-date on trends in twisted-pair copper cabling, get cabling recommendations for supporting the latest PoE-enabled devices and discover everything you need to know about PoE standards, applications and best practices.

• On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., Bill Lauby, Leviton senior product manager, will cover “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About HDBaseT (But Were Afraid to Ask).” Conference-goers will get answers to questions about 4K, HDBaseT 2.0, practical applications of Power over HDBaseT (PoH), and more.

• On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., Dennis Manes, Leviton principle applications engineer, will break down the basics of multifiber testing in his presentation, “The Method Behind the Magic: Multifiber Testing.” Attendees will get a better understanding of multifiber testing protocols, along with an overview of the tools and processes needed to enhance network performance while minimizing time spent on site.

While at BICSI, visitors can check out Leviton’s latest system solutions for copper, fiber and IT/AV networks. On display at Leviton's booth #537 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, these new systems enable migration to 40 and 100 Gb/s data center networks and address some of the latest IT/AV network challenges. Visitors can also participate in the Leviton Quick-Connect Challenge. Whoever can terminate Leviton's Atlas-X1 Cat 6 Connector the fastest will win a $500 Amex gift card - stop by the company's booth for contest rules.
