Conference details fiber optics in data center, enterprise and carrier networks

Dec. 12, 2013
The Lightwave Optical Innovation Summit’s enterprise and data center track will include panels on 40/100G cabling, fiber management, and optics in LANs.

Cabling Installation & Maintenance’s sister brand, Lightwave, is organizing a three-day conference and exhibition focused on optical innovations in a number of network environments. The Lightwave Optical Innovation Summit will be held July 14 through 16, 2014 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, TX.

The conference program will be held July 15 and 16 and will comprise two tracks: An enterprise/data center innovation track and a carrier innovation track. Consisting of presentations and panel discussions that vary in length from 30 to 60 minutes, the enterprise/data center innovation track includes discussions titled “10/40/100GbE Migration: The Role of Cabling,” “Optics in the LAN,” “Driving Down Data Center Costs Through New Designs in Fiber Management,” and “Data Center Design Innovations” among others. The carrier innovation track includes “State of 100G OTN Switched Optical Networks in North America,” “Adding Flexibility and Efficiency to Optical Networks,” “The Road to 1 Tbit/sec” and others.

To complement the two-day conference, event partner The Light Brigade will offer two half-day workshops on Monday, July 14. One workshop will cover fiber technologies for data center and enterprise networks; the other will cover emerging technologies in carrier networks. Attendance at these two workshops is included with each attendee's conference registration.
