A recent article from Mission Critical Magazine outlines five unexpected ways to improve data center efficiency.

"New ways to reduce cost, maximize computing capacity, and minimize environmental impact are top of mind for data center operators globally," writes Kim Griger, the article's author. "Common approaches, such as simply turning up the thermostat, have streamlined operations and trimmed costs, but other lesser-known opportunities could make a big difference with little time or investment."

According to the article, the 5 unexpected paths to data center efficiency include the following: air filtration; cabling; fire suppression; access control systems; and evaporative immersion cooling.
