Axis launches the mobile apps with the updated AXIS Camera Companion 2.2 with support for Axis Mobile Streaming.

Network video surveillance and security expert Axis Communications has launched new mobile surveillance apps for its Axis Camera Companion and hosted video solutions to provide users with quick and easy access to their surveillance systems remotely from Apple and Android devices.

“Small system users value flexibility and ease of use, and with these new mobile apps, users have even more flexibility with remote access to their high definition surveillance video right from their mobile devices,” explains Ryan Gregory, systems and solutions manager for business development, Axis Communications, Inc.

He continues, “These new in-house developed mobile apps not only assure optimal performance and compatibility, but also give our customers the tools they need to efficiently secure their operation wherever they are.”

Axis says its mobile surveillance apps allow users to easily switch from live view to recorded videos from any location within their surveillance system. The integrated timeline notifies about triggered events and allows the user to take immediate action. Single images and video of interest can be easily stored to their mobile device and shared when needed.

To further strengthen the offering, Axis launches the mobile apps with the updated AXIS Camera Companion 2.2 with support for Axis Mobile Streaming. This technology is specially designed to give quick and easy access to live and recorded high definition videos even for installations where bandwidth is limited.

Both apps are compatible with iOS and Android devices and will be available for download free of charge online and on the App Store and Google Play. The new app for AXIS Camera Companion is available today to download, while the new app for hosted video is planned to be available for download in October. The app for hosted video solutions is intended for use with the offerings provided by Axis’ network of video service providers.
