Web seminar will address three angles of data center infrastructure management: cabling, thermal management, and power efficiency

A web seminar that will be held live on Thursday, November 13 will include presentations on three aspects of data center infrastructure management: cabling, thermal management, and power efficiency. Hosted by Cabling Installation & Maintenance, the seminar will include presentations delivered by representatives of OFS, Chatsworth Products Inc., and Universal Electric Corporation.

In a description of the seminar’s content, Cabling Installation & Maintenance said, “A data center truly is an ecosystem of interrelated and interdependent technologies, the performance of each one affecting the others in some way. Professionals administering data center infrastructure are tasked with the challenge of maintaining balance within this ecosystem. This webcast seminar addresses three elements of the data center ecosystem—fiber-optic infrastructure for the network’s computing functions, thermal management within such a computing environment, and the supply of power to network-computing devices throughout a facility.”

OFS sales engineer Tony Irujo will open the seminar with a presentation titled “Using and Characterizing Bend-Insensitive Multimode Fiber in Data Centers.” Ian Seaton, global technology manager with Chatsworth Products, will follow with his presentation “Achieving Effective Airflow Management in Challenging Networks.” The final presentation, delivered by Universal Electric Corporation business development manager Mark Swift, will be titled “Efficiencies in Power Deployment.”

After its live broadcast on November 13, the seminar will be available for on-demand viewing for six months.
