Rittal (Schaumburg, IL) recently began production and delivery of an addition to its line of IT equipment; known as the TS IT Dynaload Rack, the product is billed as "a game-changing solution for system integrators and distributors looking to expedite and streamline the integration process of data center equipment."
According to Rittal, the rack’s added functionality starts with its advanced shipping system that features a shock-absorbing, torque-preventing pallet, stabilizing brackets, built-in leveling screws and additional welds for strength. This intelligent packaging, which is applied at Rittal’s Ohio manufacturing facility, makes build-out fast and easy without sacrificing the modularity and strength that integrators have come to expect from the company's TS IT Rack, it says.
According to the company, the economical and reusable shipping system adheres to strict International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) standards. With a load rating of 2,500 lbs, the rack's frame boasts 16-fold vertical sections and 9-fold horizontal sections, with 19-inch rails directly fastened to it. The rack's sidewall design allows access to the cabinet from the outside, providing more workable angles and freedom to install without interfering with configured components. Slotted roof cut-outs with brush strips allow for cable management flexibility, airflow and ease of installation, while a center cut-out facilitates roof-mounted fan installation.
Open ventilation accounts for 85% of the rack's perforated area, notes the company, taking advantage of room climate control and maximizing air flow. The product's re-inforced ramp design with rails prevents the rack from sliding, allowing for safe and easy removal from shipping pallet in non-resistant floor applications. Built-in leveling screws make it easy to secure the rack to the pallet and ensure even weight distribution in multiple settings.
