Oil & gas industry plumbs Industrial Internet: 'The machines are talking'

June 24, 2015

The following recent video, produced by GE Software, seeks to describe how the oil and gas industry "is being revolutionized by the convergence of connected brilliant machines, big data and advanced analytics, and empowered people at work," as engendered by the company's Industrial Internet initiatives.

As asserted by the video's narration: "The machines are talking...they're analyzing and interpreting data like never before...finding new ways to share information and streamline processes...empowering people to make better, faster, and safer decisions...[and] connecting through plant-wide systems to determine what a problem is, what caused it, and how to fix it."

In the video, Ashley Haynes-Gaspard, general manager of software and services, and Dan Brennan, Industrial Internet leader, both of GE Oil & Gas, share the milestones to date of GE's Industrial Internet activities, while imparting the company's vision for this industry.
