TINLEY PARK, Ill. -- Panduit Corp. is partnering with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to implement that company's newly released Portable Modular Data Center (PMDC) designs, which are used to minimize energy use while flexibly meeting data center capacity requirements.

Panduit says its line of High Speed Data Transport (HSDT) solutions supports the network infrastructure over the data center life cycle, and that its QuickNet pre-terminated 10Gb/s solutions are an ideal fit for the unique infrastructure requirements of containerized solutions such as IBM’s PMDC, where highly reliable and scalable cabling infrastructure must support high density network applications in challenging environments. The high-density QuickNet solutions are 100% factory terminated and tested, notes the company, and provide up to 96 fiber and 48 copper connections in a single rack space, maximizing the use of valuable PMDC real estate while ensuring the highest level of performance. The quick plug-in connections of cassette-based QuickNet assemblies may allow rapid, error-free installation up to 75% faster than traditional termination methods for considerable time and cost savings, maintains Panduit.
