Opus Interactive initiates new data center construction

Dec 29, 2009

Portland, OR -- Opus Interactive, a SAS 70 Certified enterprise hosting provider, and the among the only independently owned virtual solutions providers in the Portland metro area, announced that it has begun construction of a new data center.

According to a press release, the new data center will be located in the same neighborhood as Opus Interactive’s current facility, but will greatly increase the available space for expansion. Phase one of the data center build will come online in spring 2010 and have 6,000 square feet of floor space allowing for 300 42U cabinets. The facility will come online with two 1 megawatt generators paralleled for complete redundancy.

“This new data center represents the next phase of growth for Opus Interactive,” said Eric Hulbert, CEO of Opus Interactive. “We’re building it as a model of how future data centers will be built, and feel that the technologies we’re putting into it will result in maximum efficiencies and performance for our clients.”

Phase two of the data center build is scheduled to occur in early 2011 or as demand requires, and will bring total data center floor space to over 12,000 square feet.
