Free data center space offered to those affected by Japan disaster

Mar 17, 2011

FiberMedia Group LLC says it is offering up to three months of data center space, free of charge, to businesses in the U.S. and Japan that have been severely affected by last week's earthquake and tsunami in Japan. A page on FiberMedia's website is where companies can provide information and request the space. That page asks applicants to specify whether they need data center collocation, relocation, disaster-recovery/business-continuity, infrastructure-on-demand, or other services. Applicants also must explain how the natural disaster has affected their business operations, and describe their most urgent IT infrastructure needs.

FiberMedia has three data center facilities in New York (Chappaqua, Brooklyn and the financial district), two in New Jersey (Seacaucus and Jersey City) and one in Ohio (Cleveland). The company also states it "has the capability of providing IT infrastructure-on-demand solutions that can be accessed remotely."

Those interested in inquiring can do so here.
