Mobotix expands Canadian reach

Jul 19, 2011

IP-security system provider Mobotix recently announced it has extended its geographic reach by expanding its distribution agreement with Tri-Ed/Northern Video. According to Mobotix, the agreement allows Tri-Ed/Northern Video to distribute Mobotix's line of security solutions in its Canadian branch offices.

Mobotix's Americas general manager Steve Gorski said, "Our expanding presence and success in Canada is being further reinforced with the capabilities of strong partners such as Tri-Ed. Tri-Ed's established capabilities provide us with greater coverage and access to new reseller partners to further support our market growth throughout the Americas."

The network-security products offered by Mobotix include the Q24 Hemispheric Camera and T24 IP Door Station. Mobotix is unlike many IP-based security-system providers in that it incorporates a decentralized approach to its video-surveillance solutions. The company's cameras incorporate computers and flash memory cards so that recording and storage occur within the camera rather than on a separate DVR or other device. Mobotix says that among other attributes, this decentralized approach decreases the bandwidth burden that an IP-camera system places on a network.
