SYSTIMAX Solutions has been awarded the Tech Titans Corporate Horizon Award, which honors companies and individuals who develop or use technology in a unique and innovative way.
The award was presented at this summer's Tech Titans Awards Gala, sponsored by the Dallas Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC). Tech Titans also recognizes individuals who have excelled at contributing to and promoting the growth of the technology industry in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and entire North Texas region.

SYSTIMAX Solutions (Dallas, TX; www.www.systimax.com) was recognized for a combination of its innovative technology and its drive to be a global market leader in the structured cabling market. Tech Titans honored SYSTIMAX for all of the solutions it provides to the market, including GigaSPEED XL, a fully integrated structured cabling solution that includes a range of cables, cords, outlets and patching hardware. The company was also recognized for its iPatch intelligent patching system, used for real-time control over voice and data connections, and for LazrSPEED, an end-to-end multimode fiber solution.
"We are bouncing around on cloud nine. It's a wonderful feeling to be singled out here," says Luc Adriaenssens, vice president of R&D and technology for SYSTIMAX Solutions. Adriaenssens says GigaSPEED was one of the first solutions on the market to meet Category 6 requirements, while LazrSPEED meets the ISO OM3 requirements.
"It's not just that we were the first to make them, it's that we were the first to come out with these solutions, and the standard was built around them," says Adriaenssens. "More than anything, we are driving the industry in the performance area."
SYSTIMAX was one of four finalists for the award. Other finalists included EADS Telecom (Frisco, TX), Intervoice (Dallas, TX) and C I Host Inc. (Dallas, TX).
The award was given for outstanding innovation, unique accomplishments and potential breakthroughs in technology. Judges included consultants, professors, venture capitalists and others from the Dallas Metro area.
Adriaenssens says SYSTIMAX was recognized because its solutions are tailored to a cost-effective use of cabling. "We are pushing things like copper for Ethernet at an even higher data rate as opposed to going to multimode fiber, which is much more expensive," says Adriaenssens. "We are promoting a solution that is the lowest cost alternative. This award will further establish us as a leader in the structured cabling industry."
