Liam Galin, president and CEO of cable management software maker RiT Technologies LTD since 2000, has resigned effective May 31.
The RiT board of directors has appointed Doron Zinger, who has a two-decade track record of building and managing high-tech companies, to become RiT’s new president and CEO.
“After seven years of building the company and its strategy, and bringing about the possibility of accelerated growth, I’m looking for new challenges,” Galin told Cabling Installation & Maintenance. “I will oversee another high-tech company in a different field, but I remain obligated to this company as a director and investor, both financially and mentally.”
Israel-based RiT Technologies (www.rittech.com) manufactures PatchView, which is a standards-based, end-to-end structured cabling system with intelligent patch panels and software.
Galin says he is proud of his accomplishments at RiT Technologies. Today, the company competes with cable management software and solution providers iTRACS (www.itracs.com) and SYSTIMAX Solutions (www.systimax.com).
“I think one thing I can be proud of is changing the market,” says Galin. “When I joined RiT in 1998, the solution was not accepted. One major achievement I made was to create enough of a market demand for other vendors to join in.”
Zinger comes to RiT Technologies with a 25-year track record of building and managing Israeli high-tech companies. From 1980-1997, he served in a variety of positions at the telecommunications equipment company ECI Telecom (www.ecitele.com), rising in 1993 to become the head of its DCME business unit and in 1995 to become its senior vice president and chief operating officer responsible for more than 2,000 employees.
From 1997-2000, Zinger served as CEO of the pioneering VoIP company VocalTec (www.vocaltec.com), a period during which it secured a $48 million investment from Deutsche Telekom and made a $32 million strategic procurement. Since 2000, Zinger has served as a consultant to a number of Israeli high-tech companies and venture capital firms, both through his own consulting firm and as a partner in TGM, a Hong-Kong based business development consultancy.
