The newest release of Bosch Security Systems' central station receiver software improves the processing of alarm signals that are modified by Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or digital phone networks. Bosch says the digital signal processing (DSP) technology enhances the receivers' performance more than 75 percent when they interpret these types of signals.
Particularly affected by this new software are Bosch's Conettix D6600 and D6100i communications receivers; the company says these devices now have an improved ability to interpret control panel signals even if those signals do not meet the formatting requirements of the communications protocol. Product marketing manager Tom Mechler says this advancement solves a significant challenge for professionals in the alarm industry. He says the switch from the PSTN to VoIP and digital phone systems have "negatively affected alarm communications."
Current users of the D6600 and D6100i receivers can download the new software system, Version 1.35 of the Conettix D6200 central station receiver software, free of charge at the Bosch Security Web site.
