November 25, 2009 – Hitachi Cable Manchester received an Honorary Mention from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services for the company’s submission for the Governor’s Award for Pollution Prevention. New Hampshire Governor John Lynch presented a plaque to HCM president Ted Minami.
Also representing the cable manufacturer were Lynne Humenik, executive vice president; Steven Kenney, marketing manager; Don Falkowski, purchasing manager; Henry Fish, traffic supervisor; Mohamed Ahmed, third-shift supervisor; and Al Stigler, extrusion operator.
Hitachi Cable Manchester currently has 21 green initiatives underway in an effort to further limit the environmental impact of its manufacturing facility. Over the last few years, the company reports it has significantly reduced the amount of waste it generates while simultaneously increasing recycling efforts. The company says it also dramatically reduced the amount of methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) that it generates, by transitioning to water-based products.
