Server Technology joins 'The Green Grid'

Nov 2, 2007

November 2, 2007 -- Server Technology Inc. (Reno, NV), a provider of intelligent power distribution products for the enterprise data center market, announced its membership in The Green Grid, a consortium of information technology companies and professionals seeking to lower the overall consumption of power in data centers around the globe.

As an organization, The Green Grid says it is dedicated to the development of significant platform-neutral standards, measurement methods, processes and new technologies that will be used to improve the energy-efficiency of data centers. Membership is open to those companies and information technology professionals interested in supporting the movement to improve data center power consumption and improve overall efficiency.

The consortium says that its members realize that energy efficiency in data centers is one of the most significant issues facing technology providers and their customers today, due to the exponential increases in power and cooling costs over the past few years, as well as customer demands for high density computing outpacing power availability in many regions of the world.

"Research and product development along with working closely with other vendors is driving our efforts to improve power distribution solutions within the data center equipment cabinet," comments Brandon Ewing, CEO of Server Technology. "Many of The Green Grid's goals align closely with ours and we are excited to be a member."
