CommScope unveils enhanced Uniprise training program

Aug 7, 2008

August 7, 2008 -- CommScope Enterprise Solutions has introduced an enhanced training program for its Uniprise infrastructure solutions. In addition to the existing instructor-led courses, the company is introducing a range of new online courses that historically have been reserved for the classroom.

Using a mix of Webcast and video formats, the training is designed to make courses more accessible to people interested in advancing their knowledge of network infrastructure solutions, installation best practices and techniques. CommScope believes the online-based curriculum and format is one of the first of its kind in the industry.

"At CommScope, we are dedicated to supporting our installation partners and our end-user customers but also the industry at large," comments James Donovan, director of channel support programs, CommScope Enterprise Solutions. "With the enhanced Uniprise training program, our goal is to offer education on infrastructure solutions to as many people as possible as cost-effectively as possible, but also to offer prospective students a range of courses and certifications that expand their knowledge."

In addition to courses on network infrastructure design, twisted pair, fiber and coax technology, prospective students will be given the opportunity to choose from a variety of courses designed to train them on the best practices for installing CommScope's Uniprise-brand network infrastructure products. These courses include: CommScope's Uniprise Certified Enterprise Network Designer; Uniprise Certified Installer; and Uniprise Certified Outside Plant Specialist training courses.

CommScope courses also offer continuing education accreditation with BICSI.

"The online component of this curriculum delivers physical layer training in an innovative way. In the past, looking for appropriate training was limited to classroom based courses, with technicians having to leave their jobs for days at a time to travel to an intensive, instructor-led course," concludes Donovan. "With this program, we are bringing a structured curriculum to the Internet, in a delivery format preferred by many IT technicians. We believe the added accessibility and wide range of courses will amplify industry knowledge."
