Avnet launches digital signage site survey, installation services

Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas and Avnet Technology Solutions Americas (NYSE: AVT) have introduced the Avnet Brilliant Digital Signage Suite of Services, a package of digital signage solutions combining the company's hardware, software and technical expertise. Avnet will showcase several interactive demos of the digital signage technology at booth #359 during the 101st NRF conference, the National Retail Federation's annual conference and expo at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, January 15-18. Avnet's Digital Signage group, representing Advantech, CopiaMobile, Intel, Planar, Real Digital Media and Samsung EBD, will be joined by IBM and key Avnet solution provider partners.

“Our Brilliant Digital Signage Suite of Services solidifies Avnet’s commitment to providing a comprehensive suite of services that can be tailored to fit each customer’s individual need,” said Chuck Kostalnick, senior vice president, Avnet Embedded. “We’ve created a service model that supports large-scale implementations as well as global, multi-faceted roll-outs, all backed by Avnet’s superior technical and integration support.”

The Brilliant Digital Signage Suite of Services from Avnet includes:

-- Site Survey and Installation. Using Avnet’s team of installation experts, every aspect of the display is determined, including: power source, cabling, wireless connectivity, mounting, enclosure, and the ideal display size for maximum impact.

-- Custom Integration. With integration centers strategically placed throughout North America, Europe and Asia, Avnet says it can create custom solutions at a location closest to customers. Custom integration services include the addition of software and back-end hardware solutions, custom hardware installation, touch-screen and anti-reflective coatings.

-- Content Management. Avnet’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) allows the customer to track, control and update their content across a large network of installations from virtually anywhere in the world.

-- On-site Service Level Agreements and Extended Warranties. When repairs and replacements are necessary, Avnet’s team of technicians can repair products. Additionally, extended warranties are available from Avnet to protect investments for the long term.

-- Financing. As a Fortune 500 company, Avnet has the ability to provide financing for customers rolling out large-scale deployments.

-- Asset Recovery (Disposal/Refurbish). Once hardware reaches the end of its usable life, Avnet has the ability to refurbish, recycle or dispose of materials according to environmental regulations.

-- Technical Expertise. Avnet’s says its team of technical experts handles every step of a digital display implementation, from project management to engineering, integration and long-term support.

By 2015, Intel estimates that approximately 22 million digital signs will be powered by 10 million media players globally. Retail and “quick-serve” restaurants are just two of the market areas fueling this growth for digital signage, notes Avnet.
