Graybar grants $250K to NECA's ELECTRI for industry research, education, training

Jan 4, 2011

Electrical, communications, and data networking products and supply chain/logistical services provider Graybar has donated $250,000 to ELECTRI International in recognition of products purchased through Graybar and Graybar ESP program manufacturers from Feb. 2, 2010 through Nov. 30, 2010.

The donation is intended to help ELECTRI further its mission to fund, conduct, and monitor the electrical industry's research and deliver management education and supervisory training programs.

ELECTRI was established in 1989 by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), the voice of the more than $100 billion industry responsible for lighting, power, and communication systems in buildings and communities across the United States. In partnership with NECA, ELECTRI works to help electrical contractors meet today's demands and tomorrow's challenges.

"Graybar's generous contribution to ELECTRI helps us stimulate change," said Russ Alessi, president of ELECTRI. "With these significant new resources, we will continue to fund research on critical issues such as innovation in material handling, job supervision, and finding ways to attract the best and brightest to our industry."

"ELECTRI's contributions to the industry are invaluable," commented Robert A. Reynolds, Jr., chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Graybar. "We are honored to support ELECTRI in its mission to further the industry through research programs and training."

Participating Graybar ESP program manufacturers included Square D, GE Lamps, ERICO, Cooper Bussmann, Cooper Lighting, Cooper Crouse-Hinds, Cooper B-Line, Thomas & Betts, Panduit, Leviton, Hubbell, and Wiremold.
