April 30, 2009 -- Panduit Corp. has announced its participation as a platinum sponsor of Cisco's Data Center of the Future (DCoF) program, which features the industry's latest technology innovations for the data center. The companies say they are now working jointly to develop solutions that help data center customers manage risk within physical infrastructure by intelligently converging physical and logical systems. The DCoF program is the latest venue by which these solutions are being communicated to a wider industry audience, according to the companies.
Cisco DCoF live events are taking place across two continents, including India (Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore), Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada, and the United States. At the events, Panduit will present its Unified Physical Infrastructure (UPI) vision for the data center. According to the company, UPI-based solutions leverage an integrated physical infrastructure as the foundation to enable convergence across communication, computing, control, power and security systems while reducing downtime risks, increasing flexibility, and reducing costs. Panduit will showcase its next-generation high speed data transport capabilities, which the company says provide a comprehensive solution to connect logical systems and exceed the stringent bandwidth demands associated with consolidation and virtualization in the data center.
At one of the key breakout sessions during the DCoF live events, Panduit will discuss how decisions made today regarding the network physical layer affect the ability of the data center to scale and address tomorrow's requirements. Panduit will present a virtual tour of a mission critical data center and showcase key elements of the logical and physical infrastructure. The relationship and mapping of key physical layer elements to centralized, logical computing environments to achieve greater operational efficiencies will also be discussed.
