Connecticut's Quinnipiac University deploys 3Com's H3C networking platform

Jun 9, 2009

June 9, 2009 -- 3Com announced that Quinnipiac University (Hamden, CT) will deploy the company's H3C core-to-edge enterprise data networking products throughout the university's three-campus network, which serves about 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff.

The network and its applications resources will be managed by one of 3Com's newest offerings, the H3C Intelligent Management Center (IMC), and secured using 3Com's TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System.

Among its three campuses, Quinnipiac is deploying several H3C S9500 core switches and more than 100 H3C S5500G edge switches from 3Com. The H3C IMC will manage the network, including a wireless network that serves student housing and other facilities.

Quinnipiac also is relying on a number of 3Com services, including project management, deployment and migration, to ensure the new network is ready to perform as expected on day one.
