June 15, 2009 -- Global Datacenter Trust, a private equity firm, announced the groundbreaking of a new data center, the Phoenix NAP. The carrier-class facility features 160,000 square feet of available data center space with more than 20 megawatts of redundant power. When completed, it will offer colocation services for clients worldwide, along with available office space for local, regional, and international high-tech companies and clients.

According to a press release, the data center will incorporate several design features to promote efficiency, security and reliability. Power will be run from local utility substation transformers along two different geographic paths creating a fully diverse, redundant system. Additionally, critical load (IT) equipment will be backed up by highly efficient uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, and cooled by both N+1 modular chilled water plants and N+4 CRAH units (computer room air handlers).
"From our meet-me vaults which are redundantly located near the front of the property, to the concrete-encased cross-connect room within the steel-encased meet-me room, Phoenix NAP has the redundancy and strength to provide continued connectivity to its customers and partners," adds Jacobs.
The Phoenix NAP data center is located at 3402 E University Drive in Phoenix, AZ.
