Lee Technologies identifies top mistakes in data center planning

May 5, 2010

FAIRFAX, Va. --  Lee Technologies, a specialist in critical data center facilities design, construction and management, has released a new white paper, entitled “The Top 9 Mistakes In Data Center Planning: The Total Cost of Ownership Approach to Building or Expanding Data Centers."

Addressing the question, “Why do so many data center builds and expansions fail?”, the paper reveals the top mistakes organizations make when designing and building new data center space and also examines an effective way to achieve success through the Lee Technologies TCO approach.

“Our goal with this white paper is to share insights from our more than 25 years of experience designing, building and managing data centers and critical facilities for some of the biggest names in commercial enterprises and government agencies,” said Mike Hagan, Lee Technologies executive vice president, and the paper’s author. “The Total Cost of Ownership approach we recommend, which is described in this piece, will prepare data center leaders to confront various problems that arise during the planning process and position themselves for success.”

Additional Lee Technologies contributors to the paper include John Lusky, director of electrical engineering; Tuan Hoang, P.E., manager of mechanical engineering; and Scott Walsh, P.E., LEED A.P. and mechanical project engineer.

“The data center market outlook shows significant growth in 2010 and 2011,” added Hagan. “We stand ready to support both commercial and public sector organizations in developing the most time- and cost-efficient plans to build sustainable data centers that will meet both uptime requirements and future business goals.”
