Document automation, proposal generation software adds structured cabling estimator; free trial available

Cors Productivity Solutions, Inc. (CorsPro) has added structured cabling functionality to the Pro Edition of its SalesDoc Architect, a document automation software for producing customized, differentiated proposals and other sales documents. The new functionality is designed to streamline configuration and proposal generation for cabling solution sales, via just a few mouse clicks, says CorsPro. According to the company, the new functionality uses a building block approach that gives users the ability to create sub-assemblies containing typical cabling products and services. The sub-assemblies can then be used as components within larger “final” assemblies to build out the complete cabling solution.

“We continue to listen and respond to what our clients tell us they need to help them streamline their sales process,” said Brian Cors, Founder and President of CorsPro. “Since many of our clients offer structured cabling as part of their voice, data and audio-visual solutions, this functionality is a natural extension of SalesDoc Architect capabilities. We believe that by applying SalesDoc Architect’s smart automation features to structured cabling, clients will now have the opportunity to sell more cabling solutions with more efficiency, increased accuracy, and with greater cost savings.”

Via the software, an entire cabling solution can be built quickly and accurately and exported to Microsoft Excel in a bid-friendly format so that vendors are able to submit their bids for the cabling materials and services, says CorsPro. Once the bids have been returned by the vendors to the cabling solution provider, final pricing can be quickly imported back into the SalesDoc Architect quote so that the user can generate an accurate, descriptive sales proposal in minutes.

“We have a few clients who have been helping us to develop the cabling functionality, and they are very happy with the increased accuracy and efficiency in configuring and proposing cabling solutions,” added Cors. “They’ve also told us how beneficial it is to include descriptive content that details what is being provided so that client expectations are set and cost overruns avoided.”

The new structured cabling functionality is included in the Pro Edition of SalesDoc Architect. Existing Pro Edition clients will be upgraded automatically in the June 2011 monthly release of SalesDoc Architect. CorsPro will host a webinar on Tuesday May 24, 2:00 PM EST to demonstrate the new structured cabling functionality. Attendees will see first-hand how smart automation is applied to the structured cabling solution workflow to streamline configuration, pricing and proposal generation for cabling solutions. Register for the webinar on CorsPro’s website. A free trial version of the software is also available.
