Seminar covers fiber technologies, testing

Dec 1, 2011

A seminar hosted by Cabling Installation & Maintenance and delivered via the web will discuss fiber-optic cabling, networking and testing technologies. The seminar will include three presentations - one covering parallel-optic cabling, another covering fiber-optic system testing and a third covering media-conversion technologies.

Cabling Installation & Maintenance describes the seminar's theme as follows: "Fiber-optic cabling systems have become increasingly popular as more and more network managers face the speed and distance demands that only fiber can meet. Many are also recognizing fiber optics as the media that will bring networks into the future. The fiber-optic connections that meet today's demands and will meet tomorrow's as well, are not always the customary two-fiber links. And with increased capabilities comes increased complexity in verifying these systems' performance. This webcast seminar looks at the cabling, networking and testing landscape for the fiber-optic systems of today and tomorrow."

The event will be held live at 1:00pm EST on Wednesday, December 14. After that live broadcast, it will be available on-demand for six months. Seminar attendees who hold the RCDD, Installer, Technician, RITP or Certified Trainer professional designations from BICSI can earn one continuing education credit toward the renewal of those credentials by attending. The credit can be earned whether the attendee views the event live on the 14th or on-demand thereafter.

You can find out more about the seminar here or register for it here.
