Corus360 opens LEED Gold data center in Georgia

Jan 5, 2010

Corus360, an Atlanta-based technology consulting company, announced the completion of its LEED Gold certified data center this week. The data center, located on the bottom floor of the company’s 30,000-square-foot office building at 130 Technology Parkway in Norcross, Ga., is the first of its kind in the state, claims the company.

The new data center rounds out the company’s vision for a LEED Gold certified building and IT managed services facility. Through environmentally responsible designs and operations, Corus360 projects a 27 percent reduction in energy consumption, enabling cost and energy savings in server, storage, cooling and power distribution.

“Corus360’s investment in creating a LEED Gold certified building and data center is an investment in our clients and our future,” says Tom Lowry, Chief Operating Officer of Corus360. “The new data center, equipped with environmentally-conscious and efficient technology services, marks a milestone for all of us at Corus360.”

The move to embrace Green technology ties into Corus360’s Green LITE practice, which works with businesses to reduce energy consumption through a variety of efficient strategies, including: asset discoveries, virtualization and consolidation strategies, power and cooling studies and storage assessments. Through Green LITE best practices, clients learn environmentally friendly and sustainable ways to reduce operating costs and increase efficiency.

The company anticipates receiving LEED Gold certification for its data center the first quarter of 2010.
