Redesigned Cat 6 cable has reduced diameter

Jul 2, 2010

Hitcachi Cable Manchester has redesigned is Category 6 Plus brand CMP cable. The new design includes the Reduced Area Design (RAD) filler, which enables the cable to have an outside diameter 15 percent smaller than the previous construction. Hitachi says the cable also has improved electrical performance over the previous-generation product.

Todd Thurston, Hitachi Cable Manchester's vice president of sales, says the design benefits contractors as well as system owners. "The smaller OD permits improved conduit-fill ratios and with higher performance than the previous model, owners can be certain they are getting the electrical performance they desire."

The cable is available in Reelex boxes and on reels.
