ADC Telecommunications (Minneapolis, MN) and Nokia Telecommunications (Finland) have signed a preliminary agreement to jointly develop products for the global cable TV and telecommunications markets. The move is expected to provide global exposure for ADC`s Homeworx as an integrated voice, data and video platform.

Triangle Wire & Cable Inc. (Lincoln, RI), in order to better focus on its wire and cable business, is selling its equipment used in manufacturing steel strip and conduit and closing its manufacturing operation in Glen Dale, WV.

Thomas & Betts Corp. (Memphis, TN), a producer of electrical and electronic connectors and components, has announced its intention to acquire Catamount Manufacturing Inc. (Orange, MA), a maker of cable ties, wire connectors and other hardware.

Telecommunications Techniques Corp. (Germantown, MD), a manufacturer of communications test equipment, has acquired Tele-path Industries Inc. (Salem, VA), a supplier of ISDN and T-Carrier test products. The acquisition extends TTC`s market to the regional Bell operating companies and other communications service providers in the United States and Canada.
