Model 374 fiber-optic transceiver is compatible with singlemode fiber-optic transmission for distances greater than 9 miles. The unit is 10 Base-FL compatible and can be used with any hub offering singlemode capability to extend a lan to lan, or it can be used in pairs to communicate over distances greater than 14 kilometers. An sqe switch allows the sqe Heartbeat option to be enabled or disabled, so the unit is compatible with old and new Ethernet adapters. Model 374 measures 1.5 x 4 x 1 inches.
