Cabling Installation & Maintenance goes international

Cabling Installation & Maintenance is now available internationally, with the July 1998 launch of an Australia/New Zealand edition in partnership with building-trades publishing company Connection Magazines Pty. Ltd. (Melbourne, Australia). Cabling Installation & Maintenance Australia/New Zealand, published bimonthly, includes a core of editorial content from the existing North American magazine as well as articles about installations in Australia and New Zealand developed by Connection Magazines.

Jay Regan, group publisher of Cabling Installation & Maintenance and Cable Foreman magazines, both publications of PennWell (Nashua, NH), states, "Cabling Installation & Main- tenance Australia/New Zealand is an important addition to PennWell`s Advanced Technology Division lineup of publications. The new publication will significantly expand the reach and readership of Cabling Installation & Maintenance while broadening the magazine`s and, ultimately, PennWell`s position as a leader in the communications industry`s international marketplace."

A changing regulatory environment in Australia bodes well for local reception of the new publication. Jeff Patchell, founding principal of Connection Magazines, says, "This is currently the only dedicated cabling magazine in this part of the world. The publication is being established because the cabling market in Australia has changed. With the privatization of premises networks, there is no trade information on the installation and maintenance of these networks available to fill the void."

Dave Janoff, vice president of the Communications & Optoelectronics Group at PennWell, points out, "When Connection Magazines approached us with their proposal to begin a partnership, they made it clear that Cabling Installation & Maintenance magazine, being the world`s leading authority on premises and campuswide commu-nications, was the obvious choice for this exciting new venture."

Like the parent publication, the Australia/New Zealand edition will cover the evolving technologies, standards, and products that characterize the campus and premises-cabling market. For more information, call Glenn Clarke at Connection Magazines, tel: (011) 613 957 25822.
