The EZ Mount Network Shelf is suited for small network installations, where users do not need a standard rack or where telecommunications-closet space is limited. The shelf integrates a hub, patch panel, and power strip with a single setup. It is held away from the wall approximately 11/2 inches to facilitate routing power cables from the equipment to a power source without running them past the side or front of the equipment. Hook-and-loop cable-management strips are included. The system is 193/16 inches wide by 16 inches deep by 9 inches high and will support 100 pounds when properly mounted.
When used with the EZ Mount Network Swivel Bracket, the shelf will allow the installation of most standard 12-, 24-, or 48-port patch panels. The system allows installers access to the rear of the panels for punching down during initial installation and for any moves, adds, and changes. The bracket rotates and locks to allow initial connections and additions to be done from the front of the shelf. The brackets are also available separately. The manufacturer says the brackets provide support during the punchdown process. The bracket locks in different positions to allow an installer or technician to punch down or test connections regardless of the patch panel`s location.
