Arecont Vision achieves Intransa's top IP camera certification

Sep 21, 2010

CUPERTINO, Calif & GLENDALE, Calif.-- ASIS 2010 -- Security video appliance developer Intransa and Arecont Vision, a specialist in IP-based megapixel camera technology, announced that the IP camera company has achieved Intransa’s highest level of certification. Arecont Vision products are now Intransa VideoAppliance SELECT ELITE Partner-certified. In addition both companies are set to feature each other’s products in their respective technology labs.

“We’re very pleased to have reached Intransa’s highest level of partner certification in recognition of the quality and performance of our industry-leading megapixel camera technology,” said Jason Schimpf, partner relations manager, Arecont Vision. “Intransa’s products are now a key part of our MegaLab, ensuring ongoing sales, marketing and support integration that benefit our mutual customers. As a premier partner in the Arecont Vision Technology Partner Program, this is a key step for Intransa.”

The MegaLab is part of Arecont Vision’s Technology Partner Program, designed to further support partnerships between Arecont Vision and elite manufacturers through tighter integration, sales collaboration and joint marketing. The Technology Partner Program is open to companies such as Intransa that sell products that complement Arecont Vision's offerings, including video management software, analytics, servers, storage, wireless systems, structured cabling, optics, enclosures, switches and illumination. The MegaLab consists of a number of servers with hot-swappable hard drives connected to 64X load cameras and one of every model that Arecont Vision sells. There are also several open bays in the server rack to test appliance-based NVRs.

In addition the MegaLab includes several Intransa VideoAppliance products, including a Maximum Choice SR960 Security Server supported by a Maximum Flexibility VA200st Storage Appliance with a VA Expander. The VA200st is expandable to 70TB of RAID 5 & 6 protected, hot-swap video storage. It currently supports 68 Arecont Vision megapixel cameras, all at maximum resolution (1.3 to 5MP), frame rate and image quality and is integrated with Exacq Technologies video management software.

Intransa offers certified Maximum Simplicity all-in-one Server/Storage Appliances, Maximum Flexibility two part Server Appliances and Storage Appliances, and Maximum Choice Security Servers and Security Workstations. All are certified for use with current Arecont Vision products supported in the MegaLab.

“We are extremely excited to announce that Arecont Vision has achieved Intransa VideoAppliance SELECT ELITE Partner Certification status for camera products,” said Jeff Whitney, vice president marketing, Intransa. “There is an exceptionally short list of partners who have achieved SELECT ELITE certification but equally as important is that we have been able to access Arecont Vision’s MegaLab as a member of Arecont Vision’s Technology Partner Program.”

Widely deployed by customers in physical security, industrial video and related markets since its introduction in mid-2009, Intransa’s VideoAppliance was recently recognized as the Best in Video Storage and Distribution by the Security Industry Association at ISC West 2010, which is the latest in a string of similar awards.

Each Intransa installer-ready appliance shrinks the complexity and cost of integrating commodity servers, storage and other hardware for demanding physical security needs. While eliminating two, three, four or more commodity server and storage systems with a single, physical security optimized device, Intransa’s VideoAppliance includes integration with the customer’s choice of software.

Intransa executives will be on hand in booth 3497, October 12-14, 2010 at ASIS International in Dallas and in booth 827, October 20-21, 2010 at Security Canada Central in Toronto. To schedule an advance appointment at either event, please email Peter.Dumont@intransa.com. Arecont Vision will also be on hand at ASIS in booth 2240. To schedule an appointment email owheeler@arecontvision.com.
