Optical Cable Corporation (OCC) has introduced QuadBox, a 4-channel pre-terminated copper solution, designed to offer multiple category and construction options, offering a wide range of transmission rates for data center applications.

The QuadBox uses bundled 4-pair cable and four keystone outlet jacks that can accommodate Category 5e, 6, and 6a cable, allowing multiple protocol options from 10Mbps-10Gbps. The QuadBox is compatible with all OCC KMJ series jacks, and is available in both unshielded and shielded options, offering optional grounded shield for network isolation or Alien Crosstalk as needed for security and/or protocol requirements. Each cable option is available in both CMR and CMP ratings.

The QuadBox housing can be secured into the rear of a patch panel, using mounted clips that can be released by pinching the clips. While the housing is designed to be accessed from the rear of the panel, a carrier module also permits access from the front of the panel for ease of maintenance by the network user. Additional features include a pulling cap and tapered pulling eye cover that makes it easier to pull cable through pathways, and a label field consistent with 606 Administration standards that permits easy identification of customer source/destination or factory product information.

Assembly options include: QuadBox-to-QuadBox assemblies for creating a permanent data center link, QuadBox-to-Open assemblies for discreet IDC termination to another panel, and QuadBox-to-RJ45(4) assemblies for utilization as a cross-connect device.
