Belkin adds to GSA schedule

Mar 24, 2011

Belkin announced recent changes to its General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule Contract. The company notes that its contract, GSA # GS-35F-0085U, has grown from three individual products to more than 250 products offering solutions for desktop security, power protection, power conservation and copper and fiber cabling.

Established on September 1, 2008, the original GSA schedule featured Belkin’s line of OmniView Secure KVM (keyboard-video-mouse) switches. Designed specifically for secure military and government applications, the switch enables simple, secure access to information at different classification levels from a single user console.

Since 2008, Belkin has expanded its GSA offering in the following categories:

-- Secure KVM Switches
-- Trade Agreements Act (TAA) Compliant Rackmount Consoles and KVM
-- TAA Compliant Cables
-- TAA Compliant Surge Protection
-- TAA Compliant Racks and Enclosures

Belkin’s Secure KVM switches, which are NIAP-certified with a Common Criteria EAL4+ validation, augmented with ALC_FLR.3, provide high-speed, high-resolution support for larger monitors, peripheral devices and the latest technologies. Offering enhanced desktop security in a cross-domain environment, Belkin’s Secure KVM switches offer a flexible design that supports multiple video platforms and input devices.

Belkin is also pleased to provide its TAA compliant CAT5e, CAT6 and fiber patch cables to government agencies. Utilizing quality components and advanced manufacturing techniques, these cables ensure consistent, top-quality network performance. All Belkin cables are built to meet or exceed industry standards and come with a lifetime warranty.

Belkin also recently added its Conserve Surge with Timer product to its GSA schedule. Designed to help agencies lower overall energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint, Conserve Surge with Timer eliminates standby power at the workstation, with an innovative auto-off function. Advanced design elements, top-quality construction and superior circuitry and components ensure complete protection from surges, spikes and other electrical abnormalities while controlling wasted energy costs.

“As a proven technology leader for more than 25 years, we are pleased to be able to offer an increasing number of products to the federal government,” says Cliff Unger, Belkin’s Director of Public Sector Initiatives. “Belkin has a history of innovation and providing efficiencies in the workplace, and we are proud of our robust product portfolio that addresses the specific needs of government agencies.”

The GSA is a centralized federal procurement and property management agency created by the U.S. Congress to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. Under the Trade Agreements Act (TAA) of 1979, only products that are manufactured or substantially transformed in the U.S. or designated countries are eligible for government purchase.
