IRVINE, Calif. -- Solarflare Communications, a supplier of standards-based 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) network adapters, silicon and middleware, announced the appointment of Dave Parry as the company's new vice president of engineering.

Parry joins Solarflare with extensive experience leading teams that design and bring to market high-performance server and networking products. He will be responsible for managing the company's engineering functions. With Parry's appointment, Solarflare says it strengthens its position as a provider of high-performance, low-power 10GbE silicon, network adapters and application acceleration middleware for next-generation 10GbE networks.

Parry commented, "I am excited to be joining Solarflare. The company has a compelling 10GbE portfolio from silicon to middleware to network products, and a world-class leadership and engineering team to design and deliver it. This portfolio offers a unique value proposition to customers deploying next-generation, high-performance networks."

He continued, "Solarflare is positioned to be the silicon, software and middleware leader for high performance computing (HPC), high frequency trading (HFT), and virtualized and cloud networking. I am looking forward to this opportunity to apply my past experience in chip and systems development for high-performance servers to further advance Solarflare's technology and product leadership."
