TIA issues 'Green Report' on energy, environment

Oct 22, 2009

October 22, 2009 -- At Supercomm 2009 in Chicago, the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) announced the release of its “ICT Green Report: Energy & Environmental Trends & Forecasts.”

According to TIA, the report is intended to educate and inform decision makers in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry with reliable, relevant information -- helping them to “sort out fact from fiction” -- as they strive to carve out a viable business niche and adapt to an increasingly environmentally conscious and energy-stretched world.

At more than 100-pages long, TIA says the report was developed for readers eager to:

*  Lower their own energy use and save money;

*  Learn how the debates on greenhouse gas emissions, carbon footprint, and climate change affect their products and markets;

*  Adopt corporate social responsibility (CSR); improve customer loyalty and respond to customer demand;

*  Find new markets, both vertical and geographic;

*  Ensure their products are compliant with the increasingly heavy burden of environmental regulation;

*  Be on the leading edge of technology advances that help consumers and businesses with their own needs to lower energy costs, reduce pollution, improve efficiency and be more socially responsible.

With information, charts and graphs gathered from numerous sources, the report is billed as a comprehensive reference guide that organizes the concepts of climate change, carbon footprint, smart technologies and green business opportunities for the ICT industry. Throughout, the publication highlights ways that technology companies can enter new markets by focusing on the development of their green products and services.
