BICSI board elections underway

Sep 1, 2011

BICSI members have the entire month of September to vote for candidates of their choice, for positions on the association's board of directors for the 2012-2013 term. The positions of U.S. Northeast Region Director, U.S. North-Central Region Director, European Region Director, Treasurer, and President-Elect are up for election. Voting runs September 1 through 30. The individual selected as President-Elect will serve in that capacity for 2012-2103, then ascend to the position of BICSI President for the 2014-2015 term.

All BICSI members have the opportunity to vote for the President-Elect and Treasurer positions. Region Director positions will be voted on only by the members in those respective regions.

Candidates for President-Elect are Michael Collins, an associate director with AT&T; and James "Ray" Craig, president of Craig Consulting Services. (Click here to see candidate profiles.)

Individuals vying for the position of Treasurer are Robert "Bob" Erickson, owner of Communications Network Design and the incumbent BICSI Treasurer; Peter Charland III, an associate with RTKL Associates; Brian Ensign, director of technology with Legrand/Ortronics; and Charles "Chuck" Wilson, president of Wilson Technology Group. (Click here to see candidate profiles.)

European Region Director candidates are Brendan "Greg" Sherry, general manager with DatacenterDynamics; and Neil Silverstein, managing director of Computacenter. (Click here to see candidate profiles.)

Candidates for U.S. North-Central Region Director are Chris Scharrer, owner/designer with DCS Technology Design; and Christy Miller, chief executive officer and president of BCL Enterprises. (Click here to see candidate profiles.)

U.S. Northeast Region Director candidates are Carol Everett Oliver, marketing analyst with Berk-Tek, a Nexans company; and David Labuskes, vice president with RTKL Associates. (Click here to see candidate profiles.)

By September 1, BICSI members were scheduled to receive ballots either by email or standard mail, according to each member's preference. The ballot provides each member with an election validation number as well as a BICSI member number, which the member uses to place their vote. Members who received a ballot via email use the link provided within that email to cast a vote. Those receiving paper ballots cast their votes on the paper ballots and return them via a prepaid envelope. Election Services Corporation, an independent consulting firm, is conducting the election.

Voting closes at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 30.

Some time after voting is completed BICSI will announce the results, and those elected will be installed as board members at the 2012 BICSI Winter Conference, which will be held February 12-16, 2012.
