OFS Fitel LLC (OFS), a designer, manufacturer, and supplier of fiber-optic products, and Sterlite Technologies Ltd., India (Sterlite) have fully and completely resolved the patent and related disputes pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Civ. Action No. 1:02-cv-02149-CAP. As part of the settlement, OFS has granted Sterlite a worldwide license to certain OFS optical fiber patents. Having resolved this dispute, the parties jointly look forward to a continued successful future business relationship. The terms of the settlement agreement are confidential.

"The settlement of this lawsuit reflects our determination to protect our intellectual property," says Timothy Murray, chief executive officer and chairman of OFS.  "OFS continues to make investment to grow our intellectual property portfolio. We intend to ensure that the company's intellectual property is respected by those in the business of manufacturing and selling optical fiber products. We will continue to be vigilant in enforcing our patents and will allow the use of our intellectual property only by those authorized to do so."
