IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard available for free download

Nov 9, 2011

The IEEE 802.3az standard for Energy Efficient Ethernet is now available for free download through the IEEE Get Program. Anyone agreeing to the IEEE's terms of use can download the specification in its entirety for free.

Many in the network and cabling industry believe that manufacturers of network gear such as switches had been awaiting the official publication of 802.3az before moving forward with significant production of 10GBase-T equipment. The "az" standard was originally published in 2010.

You can visit the IEEE Get Program here to download 802.3az and other 802.3 standards.
