ClearOne unveils StreamNet IP audio/video distribution and control platform

May 18, 2010

SALT LAKE CITY -- ClearOne (NASDAQ: CLRO) , a company that develops and sells audio conferencing, collaboration, streaming media, and connectivity systems and other related products for audio, video and web applications, has introduced the VIEW platform, a line of IP-based HD audio/video distribution and control network products based on its patented StreamNet technology.

The VIEW solution provides functionality beyond just A/V distribution-- it also provides source control, a graphical user interface, sensor and relay control and much more-- all without the need for time consuming and complicated programming. By distributing audio/video over TCP/IP, significant improvements in scalability, flexibility, performance, functionality and price are achieved over traditional audio/video distribution methods. The VIEW solution provides virtual LAN Cloud Matrix Switching(TM), allowing any source to be dynamically routed to any display or audio zone.

The VIEW encoder provides real-time encoding of audio and video signals from a video source, including digital signage players, set-top boxes, DVD and players. It converts a variety of audio, video and control signal formats into an A/V stream that can then be distributed over any TCP/IP network. The units feature BNC connectors and balanced audio inputs within a 1RU high, 1/2 rack wide form factor. The decoder provides real time decoding of a TCP/IP A/V stream for output to a display.

"ClearOne's VIEW IP-based audio/video distribution and control products greatly simplify design and installation for A/V practitioners," said Scott Woolley, Director of Product Management, Multimedia and Networking for ClearOne. "The VIEW system is a perfect example of the Power of AV over IP(TM). It is easy to use, provides perfect HD video and sounds great." Woolley continued, "The ClearOne VIEW platform opens up significant new business opportunities for A/V practitioners, including double-digit growth applications such as digital signage and entertainment."

The new VIEW product line will be offered exclusively to audiovisual system A/V practitioners certified by ClearOne to have the knowledge, skill and resources to work with converged audiovisual and data network technology. The VIEW product line includes HD A/V encoders, decoders, control interfaces and Ethernet switches. The entire platform will be demonstrated at booth # N2124 at InfoComm in Las Vegas on June 9-11, 2010.
