TIA debuts online multimedia portal at CES 2011

Jan 6, 2011

LAS VEGAS -- At the 2011 International CES, the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) announced the launch of "TIA Now", a multimedia web channel for bringing industry news and analysis to the information and communications technology (ICT) community.

In its commitment to further build an interactive online ICT community, TIA also announced the creation of the "TIA Digital Marketplace", an online networking site to facilitate conference and exhibition interaction at its new, annual industry event, TIA 2011: Inside the Network, to be held in  Dallas, May 17-20.

More TIA Coverage

TIA Now is TIA’s new online multimedia channel produced in association with Decisive Media, the owner of TelecomTV. The channel presents original daily news and informational programming, along with in-depth features and interviews with ICT community thought leaders.

“TIA Now brings the latest ICT news and information to TIA members and the industry at large on an innovative and flexible platform,” said TIA President Grant Seiffert.

TIA Now operates from TIA’s new studios in Arlington, Virginia with programming that will initially include:

“ICT in 2” – A daily two-minute summary of the breaking ICT news

“ICT Review” – A weekly program featuring an analysis of technology, market and regulatory news

“From the Top” – In-depth interviews with top-level ICT executives

“DC Beat” – Interviews with policymakers, regulators, elected officials, and the latest news from Washington, D.C.

“Markets in Motion” – Analysis of how the ICT industry is responding to evolving markets and changes in consumer choices

Produced in conjunction with Decisive Media, the TIA Digital Marketplace offers a platform with social networking capabilities extending the marketing reach of companies by using the Internet to connect with ICT decision-makers and influencers. In addition, starting in January the TIA Digital Marketplace offers a series of educational Webinars based on TIA 2011 educational tracks.

The Webinar schedule includes these hot-button topics on the following dates:

Jan. 26 – Mobile Backhaul
Feb. 23 – Converged Networks
March 23 – Utility Networks
April 4 – TIA 2011 Digital Marketplace Preview
April 13 – Cybersecurity
May 4 – TIA Spring Policy Summit Preview

“TIA’s members have been at the forefront of delivering advanced communications to the market,” said Seiffert. “We are pleased to leverage that innovation to create tools that will educate and bring value to our members, the ICT community, policymakers, journalists and the general public.”
