CCCA adds to ranks again with addition of comCables

Jun 9, 2011

As we reported earlier, Panduit joined the Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA) at the organization's May meeting. Also at that meeting, structured-cabling manufacturer and low-voltage systems distributor comCables became a CCCA member.

CCCA chairman Kevin Ressler said the association welcomes comCables' participation as seasoned industry professionals. He also commented that the CCCA's growth as well as the diversity of its membership across segments of the cabling industry is "a gratifying indicator of the broad appeal and value of our association's initiatives and programs."

Among the association's membership are distributors including Accu-Tech and Anixter, optical-fiber manufacturer OFS, and polymers/plastics/materials producers including AlphaGary, Cable Components Group, Daikin, DuPont, 3M Dyneon, PolyOne and Solvay Solexis, along with a number of cable and connectivity manufacturers.

comCables' president Greg Greenwood said the association's efforts "to preserve the codes and standards of the structured cabling industry is vital to our industry's future growth and success."

Joining the CCCA comes after comCables reported it had its best-ever Q1 revenue earlier this year. The company did not release specific revenue numbers but said Q1 2011 revenue topped Q1 2010 by more than 29 percent. It also said that for the year, its 2010 revenue was 9.35 percent higher than 2009's.

Also recently, the company expanded its sales staff with the addition of Carin Avila-Darr as regional sales manager for the Western United States and John Orosz as an inside sales representative. Both have significant experienced in the structured cabling industry, comCables says. Orosz was an installer of low-voltage systems for 15 years and Avila-Darr has worked for companies including Accu-Tech, Anixter and Hitachi Cable. Most recently, Avila-Darr operated Global Green Technologies LLC, a company focused on the removal of abandoned cable.
