Linxtelecom chooses ADVA Optical Networking for network upgrade

Jan 13, 2010

Linxtelecom, an international telecommunications and data center services provider, has selected the ADVA FSP 3000 from ADVA Optical Networking to provide reliable, high-speed connectivity across parts of the carrier’s network. The network delivers transport between data centers separated by international borders and provides local peering with Internet exchanges.

Initial deployments have occurred in Russia and the Baltic countries.

Linxtelecom targets other carriers, Internet service providers (ISPs), network operators, and enterprises. The company provides a range of services including international private lines (IPL), wavelength services, IP transit, MPLS-VPNs, and virtual point of presence (VPoP) services via a network spanning Western Europe, the Nordic countries, Russia, the Baltic States, Poland, Ukraine, and Georgia. Linxtelecom also offers co-location and dedicated server services from its data centers in Tallinn, Estonia, and Moscow, with another data center to be launched soon in St. Petersburg.

“The primary reasons we selected ADVA Optical Networking’s solution were its cost-effectiveness and the flexibility of the products,” said Erwin Sparreboom, vice president of operations for Linxtelecom.

“These features will prove to be increasingly necessary as we continue to expand our footprint and range of services. We operate in a dynamic and challenging market that requires us to provision high-quality services for our customers within short timeframes. During and after the selection phase, ADVA Optical Networking responded with outstanding support and fast delivery. Our companies share the same ‘customer-centric’ vision of doing business,” added Sparreboom.

“Across the Linxtelecom network footprint, new service models are driving the requirement for higher bandwidth and sophisticated data centers to both store and deliver data. The success of that model relies on an optimized cost-structure, an environmentally friendly infrastructure, an open corporate culture, and a clear orientation on quality and integrity,” commented Fabrice Jean, vice president of sales, Western Europe and Nordics for ADVA Optical Networking.
