Panduit, Emerson Network Power in data center partnership

Users of Panduit's Unified Physical Infrastructure (UPI) solutions, including structured cabling systems, may have cooling, power and monitoring systems from Emerson Network Power in their futures. Panduit and Emerson Network Power recently announced a partnership "to meet the rising demand for effective enterprise system integration and risk management in the data center," the companies said. A Panduit executive stated that through the partnership, his company and Emerson Network Power can offer reference architectures and reference designs for customers.

The two organizations are working together on a global level to incorporate Liebert cooling, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and monitoring and management systems into Panduit's UPI solutions. Panduit's UPI approach is intended to allow greater integration of the data center and connected building physical infrastructure to help organizations achieve greater efficiency, availability and security of critical business systems. The two companies explain that leveraging Liebert intelligent controls in the power and cooling systems with Panduit's integrated end-to-end physical infrastructure solutions allows optimization of data center energy efficiency wihout having to compromise availability.

"Liebert power and cooling technologies with intelligent controls will enable Panduit's UPI-based solutions to provide the highest energy efficiency currently available, support IT growth trends, and enhance availability," according to Jeff Sturgeon, vice president of marketing solutions for Emerson Network Power's Liebert products business.

Panduit's vice president of global strategic marketing Vineeth Ram added, "Our collaboration with Emerson Network Power enables Panduit to realize the UPI-based principles of physical to logical systems integration in the data center environment. Together, we are able to provide superior capabilites to connect, manage and automate the systems infrastructure an enable a smarter, unified business foundation for our customers. Reference architectures and reference designs for the data center from Panduit and Emerson will help to optimize the data center infrastructure for power, cooling, speed, space and performance."
