Jun 18, 2010

SINGAPORE -- At CommunicAsia 2010, Grandstream Networks, a manufacturer of IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance solutions, introduced a single line small business SIP telephone, the GXP285.

The newest member of Grandstream’s GXP family of business SIP telephones, the company says the GXP285 helps small business users tap into high quality audio and rich features of Voice-over-IP technology as well as the cost benefits and enhanced productivity it brings.

According to David Li, CEO of Grandstream Networks, “The GXP285 offers small business and service provider customers a next generation single line SIP telephone with HD audio quality, rich telephony features, and very attractive price point. A key benefit of the GXP285 is its integrated PoE capability that allows centralized power supply with backup.”

The GXP285 is billed as a single line SIP telephone with dual 10/100M Ethernet ports and integrated Power-over-Ethernet (802.3af PoE), 128x32 graphical LCD with support for multiple languages, full duplex speakerphone with acoustic echo cancellation, up to 2 line appearances allowing 2 simultaneous calls, 3 XML programmable soft keys, and headset jack. The phone has broad interoperability with most of the leading IP PBX, Softswitch platforms and 3rd party SIP devices on the market and can be easily auto provisioned for mass deployment, says GrandStream.

The GXP285 delivers superior audio quality with its HD handset and speakerphone, supports a number of advanced telephony features including hold, mute, transfer, forward, 3-way conference, XML customization of LCD screen, off-hook auto dial, auto answer, click-to-dial, downloadable ringtones, server redundancy and fail-over support, as well as security protection (SRTP and AES encryption of configuration file).

The phone will be commercially available through Grandstream’s worldwide distribution channels at a list price of $95 in July 2010. For more about the product, visit www.grandstream.com.
