Emulex announced that its OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapter (UCNA) architecture will provide 10Gb/s Ethernet integration into five enterprise-class and high-volume IBM server platforms.

The company has entered full volume production on the AQ 1002, its flagship low-power 10GBASE-T PHY solution. 

Fulcrum Microsystems’ FocalPoint FM4224, a 24-port 10-GbE semiconductor device, is being used by Fortinet as the switching fabric for that company’s recently launched FortiSwitch-1000, a chassis-based 10-GbE data center switch.

The switches have an optional 4-port 10-GbE module, doubling the number of 10-GbE connections between network layers and making them ideal for virtual data centers.

Phyworks says its PHY2210 equalizing cable transceiver enables cable manufacturers to extend the reach and reduce the gauge of active copper cable assemblies supporting all standard data rates 1 to 10.5 Gbps. The transceiver provides a single design platform for multiple protocols, suiting SFP+ active copper cables, Infiniband cables, 6.25G backplanes, Fibre Channel (1G, 2G, 4G and 8G) and Ethernet (1G, 10G) networks.

Avago Technologies has further expanded its family of SFP+ optical transceiver modules for 10-Gbps Ethernet equipment designs. The new SFP+ transceiver series include the 10/1-Gbps dual-rate AFCT-701SDDZ 10GBase-Long Range (LR) singlemode and AFBR-703SDDZ 10GBase-Short Range (SR) multimode fiber transceivers for use in enterprise and data center applications.
