Presentation 1: Cabling systems for IP-based access control and surveillance
Taking a nuts-and-bolt approach and focusing on system architecture, this presentation will explain the cabling types that traditionally have supported analog-based access control and surveillance systems. It will discuss media and connectivity types. The presentation will then turn its attention to IP-based access control and surveillance, describing the layout and system architecture that can be used to design these systems. This portion of the presentation will also discuss media and connectivity types that are appropriate for IP-based access control and surveillance systems.
Presentation 2: Using your existing copper infrastructure for video transmission
Building on the information that opens the webcast, this presentation focuses on IP-based video transmission. In particular, it will discuss how a cabling-system owner can use the twisted-pair copper cabling system already in place as the infrastructure for an IP-based transmission application. This presentation can also include discussion of the use of Power over Ethernet as a means of powering such a transmission system.
Presentation 3: IP-based surveillance system update
IP surveillance and camera technology continues to evolve rapidly, as camera manufacturers incorporate more capabilities into their devices. This presentation will highlight the latest capabilities being built into IP cameras, including compression technology. The presentation will put emphasis on the extent to which these capabilities are driving up or driving down the amount of bandwidth cameras consume as a result of these innovations.
