Berk-Tek and Ortronics/Legrand have announced that the NetClear GTX 10-Gbit UTP solution received ETL testing confirmation on Nov. 3 by meeting the latest 10-Gbit TIA/EIA 568-B.2 Addendum 10 draft 2.0 specifications.

The test measured all required transmission performance parameters including attenuation, NEXT, PSNEXT, ELFEXT, PSELFEXT, and return loss, as well as alien near end crosstalk (PSANEXT), alien equal level far end crosstalk (PSAELFEXT) performance as defined in the draft standard for transmission performance specification for 4-pair 100 ( augmented Category 6 cabling. The tests were conducted on NetClear GTX 4-connector 100-meter channel in 6 around 1 bundled configuration.

NetClear GTX combines Berk-Tek LANmark-10G UTP cable and Ortronics Clarity10G UTP connectivity to offer a Shannon capacity over 18 Gbits/sec exceeding the target for reliable 10 Gbits/sec operation. The NetClear GTX system guarantees 100-meter 10GBase-T support for standards compliant channel configurations.

Today Berk-Tek and Ortronics continue to work with the IEEE 802.3an and TIA standards committees to help define the final requirements for 10-Gbit Ethernet over twisted pair cable media. The NetClear GTX cabling system provides guaranteed compliance to all current and future 10-Gbit channel specifications identified by the IEEE and TIA committees. In short, the NetClear GTX copper cabling system guarantees authentic 10-Gbit performance.

NetClear GTX is the newest addition to the NetClear XG LAN family of solutions designed to support the complex requirements of 10-Gbit networks using either copper (UTP and FTP) or optical fiber cabling. The NetClear XG LAN family of cabling systems from Berk-Tek and Ortronics is designed to provide a comprehensive and high performing array of 10-Gbit solutions. XG LAN solutions also include the NetClear GTS Category 6 FTP solution and the NetClear MM10 multimode fiber cabling system that offers long channel lengths for 10GBase-SR -600 meters using economical 850nm optics.
