CommScope and Corning are investing nearly $550 million combined and creating hundreds of new jobs in America to build the fiber-optic cables that will help close the digital divide.
Corning's optical cable manufacturing facility expansion will explicitly help address growing demand for fiber and cable, as U.S. network operators bring high-speed connectivity to underserved communities, particularly in rural America.
CommScope said its new HeliARC fiber-optic cables are expected to support 500,000 homes per year in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments.
