Belden CDT Inc. has announced changes in its organization structure designed to address more effectively the needs of its customers in North America.

The company's operations in North America will be organized into two groups. The Belden Americas Division, under the leadership of Peter Sheehan, will include Belden electronics and networking products, Alpha Wire, and the Latin American sales organization. The Specialty Products Division, under the leadership of Robert Canny, will include Thermax, West Penn Wire, X-Mark and Mohawk.

"Combining the Belden electronics and networking operations in North America will permit us to develop a more coordinated approach to our largest geographical market and better serve customers who use our products in multiple applications," says John Stroup, president and CEO. "Distributors value the unparalleled breadth of our product line and the strong awareness of our leading brands. We believe this change is a step forward in improving our service to these important commercial partners and managing our brands more effectively."

Robert Lewis, general manager, Asia/Pacific, will now report directly to Stroup. The company's European operations, under Larrie Rose, president of European operations, will continue to report to Stroup.

Robert Matz, who led the company's Networking Division, is leaving the company.

"We appreciate Bob's service in helping the company through significant changes of the past few years, and we wish him well," says Stroup.
